The disposal of waste asbestos, whether from a workplace or household, is controlled by EPA under the Environmental Protection Act 1970 and the Environmental Protection (Prescribed Waste) Regulations 1998. In addition, the EPA controls the transportation of waste asbestos when undertaken by a commercial contractor. By law you are required to dispose of asbestos products at a waste treatment centre that is licensed to accept waste asbestos.
